Adding a Shortcut to the Automated Card Catalog

Students will automatically have a shortcut on the quick launch bar at the bottom of their screen to Spectrum, the IMC catalog. Staff and teachers who are using computers at Washington High School can add a shortcut to their computer desktop which links them to the Media Center's electronic card catalog. This enables them to check for the availability of our books and prints, as well as sound and video recordings from any computer on the school network.

To add the shortcut:

1. Open "My Computer" by double clicking on the icon in the upper left corner
2. Open the Washington Student Applications Drive (wash-std-apps)
3. Open the "Patron" folder
4. Use the right mouse button (the one under your middle finger) to click on the circular rainbow icon with a 5  in the middle.
5. Select "Create Shortcut" from the list of options
6. Select "yes" when asked if you want to create the shortcut on the desktop.
