Committee Reports

Cookie Sales – The next sale will be St. Patricks Day. A sign-up was passed for volunteers.

Health Ed – Lynn Dennis reported that 75% of the ASAC evaluations were positive with students feeling the sessions were worth while. The “Life after High School” panel for seniors will take place Thursday, March 17 in the Little Theatre. The panel discussion will be taped for those who are absent. The committee will be sending with each senior a packet of information including brochures on STD facts, birth control, HIV, binge drinking, a check list for college supplies, transitions information from Kirkwood , and a $5 coupon from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Lynn would like feedback from parents about the senior response to the packets. The Health Ed program has earned a grant from the City PTA that will help keep the program going forward.

Post Prom – Ann Hoffman reminded parents to please make a contribution if they have not already done so. Because this event is totally free to all seniors and their guests, the financial support of parents is crucial. LaNae Ceryanec reported the senior class officers would like parental input on the prom video. They are considering doing away with the Pro Video taping of the promenade and dance. The consensus from the parents in attendance was that they would like to see the option to purchase a video continue, but the $40 price tag was high. They would also like to see more publicity about the video.

Senior Awards – The order has been placed for the awards.

Grounds – Sue Winegarden reported that she has been in contact with the city and district regarding the future bus stop shelters at WHS. Progress is slowly moving forward.

Volunteer Coordinator – Janelle Parks thanked those who agreed to provide lunch to our senior panel on March 17 – Sorina Abernathy, Barb Rhame, Audrey Bradford and Laura Behrens.
